Operation Christmas Child
Some 30 years ago we were introduced to supporting Operation Christmas Child sending a shoebox to a child in a country where they were unlikely to receive any gift. And so, through the Circuit and ever since we
have shown "a tangible way of showing God's love to needy children across the world".
Could you help and have some fun putting together a simple shoebox filled with paper and stationary, hygiene items, a ball, fun toys, maybe a hat, possibly a personal message and a cuddly toy.
Your box will join the many that go to over 100 countries from 7 donating countries. 11 million went out this past year.
"This side of the box" — gives us joy, lots of conversations, a chance to share with our community and opportunities of praying for the children and our overseas church partners.
"The other side of the box" gives the overseas church partners THEIR opportunity to reach "Hard to get to Areas" and bring the story of Jesus (where appropriate) and HOPE.
It’s because of this network of communication and trust that Samaritan's Purse international can go in SO quickly and bring water aid, long time support and disaster relief — as in Nepal and Venezuela.
Keep packing those boxes… The need continues. Leaflets are available from our churches in Huntingdon Methodist Church, Berkley Street, Eynesbury, St Neots, Sawtry and Buckden Methodist Churches.
Handing in date is Sunday 15th November. This year boxes from UK will go to Serbia, Moldova, Bosnia, Ukraine, Central Asia, Malawi and Ghana.
It is possible to pack/ purchase a box "On line".See operationchristmaschild.org.uk/packashoebox
